How Do I enrol?
You can email us for an enrolment form, but first we recommend you calling our office to discuss your needs and what we have to offer.
Can I attend on a casual basis?
Our school does not cater for casual attendees. Our students enroll for the whole year.
What is the duration of a class?
Classes generally last 45min to 1hr. Some senior classes are 1.5hrs.
What Performance Opportunities are offered?
Annual Concerts
All students are welcome to participate in our annual concerts, usually held in Late Nov/early Dec. Each class learns and rehearses a special item during their class time, and then performs it as part of a professional stage show before a large and appreciative audience. As we have quite a large school, we stage both a Junior school concert and a Senior school concert. Given that our local theatre has limited seating, each concert is performed twice, allowing all parents and friends to view the show.
Although participation in the Annual Concerts is not compulsory, we have always found that taking part is a wonderful experience for all students, and as well as being tones of fun, also gives students a great sense of achievement & confidence.
Mid-Year Production
For our Company members and Musical Theatre classes we also have an annual mid-year production.
Performance Troupe
The school has a number of performance troupes that perform throughout the year at various community events and selected competitions. An audition is required for students who wish to be troupe members, and auditions are held at the beginning of each year. Troupe members must demonstrate dedication, a good attitude, teamwork and a willingness to always improve.
Can I watch my child’s class?
Parents are welcome to watch their child’s class on the last week of Term One and Term Three only. Classes are focused on dance technique, learning new choreography and nurturing the team-work climate we strive so hard to cultivate. As well as being group-focused, they are also terrific opportunities for students to develop their interpersonal skills and to contribute and participate in the class process. The environment that is generated is one of camaraderie, respect, joy and unity. Having an ‘audience’, no matter how supportive, can alter the dynamics of the group.
Are exams Compulsory?
No, exams are not compulsory. However, we do strongly recommend exams for those who are ready. Exams provide students with an opportunity to have their dance technique externally assessed and the added focus that this process gives students can prompt dramatic improvements in their dance. Preparation for exams is also undertaken in a class context, and so the support and cohesion that develops between students in the lead-up to exams is particularly beneficial and reassuring.
What is your fee Structure?
Fees are invoiced for the whole term at the beginning of every term. Payment must be made by no later than Week Two of every term and must be paid in full. Please phone our office for our current class costs.
